National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra (NITK), Kurukshetra, Haryana. Formerly Formerly called Regional Engineering College (REC), Kurukshetra is a Deemed University under the University Grants Commission (UGG) Act. This college of engineering was established in 1962 and became a deemed university in the year 2002 and thus acquired its new name i.e. National Institute of Technology. NIT Kurukshetra is a public technical university wholly funded by Government of India.
